We welcome anyone who has come to Basingstoke from overseas and would like the opportunity to chat in English in an informal setting over a cup of tea or coffee.
This is not an English lesson, but an opportunity for our guests to improve their ability to speak English and learn about the culture through simple conversation.
During our time together people can share experiences, make friends, receive help with practical issues, and enjoy each other’s company. We occasionally share food from other countries, and there is often a lot of laughter!
Can I bring children?
Small children accompanied by their parents are welcome. We do not have a crèche, but there is space for children to play in the room where English Café takes place.
