Dad's, spiritual fathers & Father God

What a delightful mix our all-age Fathers Day live stream was! Andy & Diane Taylor joined Gary Bastin as co-hosts as we looked at Dad's, spiritual fathers and God as Father. There was a live ‘Dad & child/ren’ challenge from three homes and we had some awesome contributions from various people in the church. Thanks to all those who took part making it such a fantastic morning!

Ezra: A house and a people

On a hot sunny morning Biggsy was joined by Ellen Brown and Euan Rixson as co-hosts. Thanks to Lynette Pascual for speaking in 'The Source' and to Hope Worship for leading us in songs both old and new in our sung worship!

We were delighted to welcome back expert Bible teacher, Dave Perry (from Canada), who did a masterful job in unpacking the first two chapters in our series on the book of Ezra.

Ezra: Introduction

It's a new month and a new series! Host Sara Huggett was joined in the studio by Gary Bastin who introduced the book of Ezra. He highlighted three areas in the book which are relevant for us as we emerge from lockdown: Return, Rebuild and Restore.

Chris Greenhalgh led our sung worship, including premiering an original song, and we heard from Reuben Brown in 'The Source'.

Emerge - Prayer

Gary Bastin was joined by Gill Mahers in this week’s live stream! We started with a Bible quiz called 'Who prayed that?' before Ryan Pascual shared in 'The Source' followed by some sung worship led by Harry Garnish. 

Gill was outstanding speaking on 'Prayer' as part of our ‘Emerge’ series. She was clear, envisioning and extremely practical. We highly recommend this inspirational talk!

Youth Pastor Biggsy was Sunday’s Captain, ably assisted by First Mate James Liriano! Chloe Watkinson beautifully led our sung worship and we heard from The Okafor’s in 'The Source'. Sara Huggett spoke clearly and sensitively on the importance subject of ‘Lament’ in our ‘Emerge’ series.

Emerge - Introduction

Terry & Sara Huggett hosted this week's live stream! We heard from Wunmi Olopade in 'The Source' and Blesson John and a 'boy band' led our sung worship. Gary Bastin introduced our new series ‘Emerge’. Over the next few weeks, we will explore a variety of areas, to help us as we emerge from lockdown with relevant, practical and imaginative teaching!

Easter Sunday - Breakout

It was an all-age eggs-travaganza as we celebrated Easter Sunday! Co-hosts Andy & Diane Taylor led a special Easter quiz which saw the return of ‘Bingo Bucket’. There were eggs-cellent videos from our young people, ‘Pam & Ann’ as well as an awesome collaboration from Hope Worship. Gary Bastin spoke about the significance of Easter before Biggsy surprised a family in the church live! We concluded with the church sharing Easter greetings!

'Hope at Home' was an uplifting celebration of Christmas, hosted by Gary Bastin and his daughter Abi. Samuel Dunn joined them and spoke about ‘The Greatest Gift’. Many others joined in with Nativity readings and incredible sounding carols. There was also a brilliant sketch from the talented duo ‘Pam & Ann’. As it started to snow, we concluded with a whole mix of the church wishing everyone a ‘Merry Christmas!’

Terry & Sara Huggett hosted our Advent livestream, starting our run up to Christmas! In this reflective morning there was a creative reading from David Robotham and songs of ‘advent’ from Max Phillips. Diana Murungi shared honestly and vulnerably about how she had to wait for a child. Then we heard a biblical perspective on waiting. It was a very rich and deep time together.

Catherine Sherwood told us about someone has inspired her in 'Holy Spirit Histories' before Andy Taylor spoke insightfully about the Holy Spirit in the New Testament and poured three bottles of Guinness!

God’s Waiting Room - The Disciples

It was an all age live stream on Sunday as we looked at 'the disciples' waiting for the Holy Spirit to come on them. We started off with a bouncy praise song led by Hope Kids, then Iain & Rachel McDonald did a top job in leading us in communion and prayer. Blesson John sensitively led our sung worship and Gary Bastin spoke about how, after waiting and praying, the Disciples were transformed when the Holy Spirit came upon them. What is God doing now, what could this mean for us and our nation?

A wonderful all age live stream hosted by youth pastor Biggsy all about Moses part of our 'God's Waiting Room' series. There was a Minecraft video retelling God’s call to Moses before James Liriano’s punchy preach reminding us God’s task is still the same but the tools to share it are different! It was a joy to be led in sung worship by Max Phillips accompanied by twin daughters Anna & Emily. We concluded with a very helpful interview with Lynne Jones from Rewire Life Coaching, looking at practical ways to navigate this new normal.

This week was all about life in the new normal: Gary Bastin explained why we will be continuing with live streams for the foreseeable future. We heard four people read from the Bible before David Robotham unpacked Romans 10 & 11. Gary was joined by members of the Brown family who told us all about their multitude of animals including the chicken care home!

Mothers Day…goes online

Mothers Day this year was very different! Due to the Coronavirus pandemic sweeping across the UK we were unable to gather as a church. Instead church leader, Gary Bastin, hosted an online, interactive Mothers Day ‘service’ which was broadcast on Facebook live!
